Hawk Named Vice President of Business & Administration

Jeanine Hawk, who has 23 years of experience in financial management - in higher education, municipal government and the private sector - has been named vice president of business & administration at Santa Monica College.

As the college's chief business officer, she is responsible for leadership and administration of all aspects of the college's business operations, including fiscal services, budget planning, contracts, risk management, and facilities planning and management. In that capacity, she oversees a staff of 176.

Hawk comes to SMC from De Anza College in Cupertino, where she served five years as vice president of educational resources & college operations. Before that, she served as the finance director of the City of Medford in Oregon, and prior to that held business administrative posts for eight years at Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, Ore. Hawk also spent over 10 years in private industry in a variety of business and administrative positions.

Hawk received her MBA from Southern Oregon University and a bachelor's degree in social studies from the University of California at Irvine.

She has served on the boards of several organizations including the Josephine County School Board and the Josephine County Human Rights Alliance and currently serves on the board of the Association of California Community College Administrators.

Hawk and her husband Michael live in Los Angeles.
