Toothbrushes. We all have one. We all (hopefully) use it. And when it gets worn out...? They're so easy to throw away, aren't they? Heck, gravity does most of the work. You just hold your hand over the trash can, relax your fingers, and - POOF! - that toothbrush is gone for good, right?

Wrong. Toothbrushes create about 50 million pounds worth of trash in landfills every year. And when they're in a landfill, that non-biodegradable, number 5 plastic just hangs around forever.

So here's this week's green tip: Recycle your toothbrush. And thanks to Preserve products, it's as easy as using gravity and a mailbox.

    1. Go to Preserve's recycling site online.
    2. Print out the postage-paid mailer (That's right! They pay for the postage!!!)
    3. Stick your used toothbrush(s) inside and let gravity take the mailer from your hand to the mailbox

Congratulations! You've just helped to keep our landfills from overflowing, you've reduced our dependence on foreign oil, you've helped combat global warming and you've supported a company that has a conscience. Not too shabby.

Also - Preserve recycles tongue scrapers, disposable razor handles, Britta water filters and most number 5 plastic containers. The plastic gets recycled into new Preserve products, like toothbrushes. We all have one. We all (hopefully) use it. And when it gets worn out...?

We recycle it!
