Denver, CO (PRWEB) -- Columbine High School principal Frank DeAngelis will conduct a walking tour of the school Friday, March 20, for reporters covering the 10th anniversary of the deadliest high school shooting in U.S. history, as others in the community throughout the day will speak to the press for the first time about the future of school safety in Colorado.

Janel Parrish sings "I Won't Cry," the motion picture theme song for "April Showers," directed by Andrew Robinson and based on his Columbine experiences 10 years ago.The advance media events begin with a 9:00 a.m. press conference at the Denver Press Club, followed by a Colorado stakeholders luncheon at Johnson & Wales University, Denver, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. The walking tour will take place from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Reporters will also be able to visit the Clement Park Amphitheatre nearby, which will be the site of the Columbine community remembrance on April 20.

Special guests at the March 20 press conference, stakeholders luncheon, and walking tour will include Jeff Kass, author of the new book, "Columbine: A True Crime Story;" Andrew Robinson, former Columbine student and director of the new film, "April Showers," based on the Columbine tragedy; Darrell Scott, father of victim Rachel Scott; Ted Zocco Hochhalter and John-Michael Keyes, parent activists; Kristi Mohrbacher, former Columbine student; and many parents, first responders, educators, innovators, today's decision-makers and tomorrow's leaders who are contributing to Colorado's new culture of school safety.

Colorado Rising will be moderated by international school safety expert, Michael Dorn.
