Two women were shot on April 24, 2009, at approximately 9:25 PM while standing at the rear of the apartment building located at 135 San Vicente. Several shots were fired by an unknown suspect. The two injured women were accompanied by a third woman who narrowly escaped injury.

Two passing physicians heard the shots and provided immediate medical care to the victims until paramedics from the Santa Monica Fire Department arrived. The victims were transported to local area hospitals, one is listed as being in critical condition, and the other is listed being in stable condition. At this time, both victims are expected to survive their injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the victims may have been specifically targeted as a result of previous incidents in which they were involved.

The suspected assailant is described as a male, possibly white, mid 20s, 5'10” to 6', approximately 180 pounds, wearing a black t-shirt and shorts. The suspect may have facial hair. The suspect fled east from the location on foot. No vehicle was seen and the suspect is still outstanding.
