Love - in all its different incarnations - is the theme of the Santa Monica College Musical Theatre Workshop program that will highlight some of the best-known numbers from hit Broadway shows
Theatre Arts and Music departments are pleased to present "How We Got Where We Are," a revue of numbers from a wide range of musicals that have been influenced by genres ranging from opera to vaudeville and from film to comic strips.
The SMC Musical Theatre Workshop performances are scheduled at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 7 in the Theatre Arts Studio Stage, located on the SMC main campus at 1900 Pico Blvd. Tickets are $10, plus a $1 service fee.
A free performance of an abridged version of the show will be at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, June 4 in the same location.
The workshop is directed by theatre arts professor Janie Jones and adjunct music professor Karen Benjamin. The music director is Gary Gray.
