Santa Monica College's Emeritus College Art Gallery is pleased to present the Faculty Exhibition - featuring pieces by 15 Emeritus College instructors - Oct. 29 through Dec. 11. Works on display will include media such as oils, photography, mixed media, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, calligraphy and pencil. "Art education is one of the cornerstones of the curriculum at Emeritus College, where talented art faculty members provide instruction and inspiration for students," said Lynn LaBate, Emeritus Gallery curator. "Thisexhibition is an opportunity for our students and community members to witness the artistic gifts of our faculty." Included in the show will be Ken Buckner, Jacquelyn Brutsché, Evelyn Debes, Lynn Goodin, Chris Hero, Freddie Manseau, Lee O'Keefe, Ruth San Pietro, Mary Pillot, Trenton Reynolds, Janet Takahashi, Valerie Taylor, Catherine Tirr, Bruce Trentham and Cheryl Walker. The opening reception will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 in the gallery, located on the first floor of Emeritus College, 1227 Second St. in downtown Santa Monica. Parking is available next door in Santa MonicaPublic Parking Structure No. 2. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Emeritus College, SMC's widely praised program founded 33 years ago, currently serves about 3,500 older adults with 150 classes and special programs.
